Basic Information:

Language is the one of the most amazing tools we humans have. Without this tool,  human relationships couldn't be possible. Our society has been built thanks to the possibility we have to communicate with others; thanks to the skills we have to express our ideas and our points of view, thanks to the ability to understand and analyze what other people say and think of everything that surrounds us, thanks to the agreements we can reach despite our differences. Language is maybe, the only tool that will let us make this world a better place.

Having a good conversation and exchanging ideas opens up not only the possibility to state our points of view, to explore new horizons, to change our perception and perspectives on certain topics and to learn lots of things from others but also to have a good time. Having a good conversation requires, among other elements, the expression of our agreement or disagreement about the topic we are talking about; that's why we need some sentences or phrases that let us do it properly. Let's see some of them in the following videos:

Write in your english notebook the following exercises and solve them, using the information in the chart above.

   5. Mother: Television has a bad influence on children.

      Father: That’s exactly my opinion. We should limit their time for watching TV.

IMPORTANT REMARK

Using phrases to express your agreement or disagreement is important, but it is also important to say the reasons why we agree or disagree.

For example:

Statement       : Social networks promote the respect and tolerance between people.

My point of view: That's not always true because I have seen many cases of people who mistreat or bully others using social networks; they usually make fun of people with disgusting messages and memes that hurt their feelings.
