Basic information:        

Read  the  following texts (Planets in the solar system / Michael and his stomach) and 

then  solve the corresponding exercises in your notebook. It is not necessary to write

the texts in your notebook; Only write the exercises and their solution.

PLANETS IN THE SOLAR SYSTEM

 

There are eight planets in the solar system, and each one is very different. Some planets, like Jupiter and Saturn are very large. Others, like Mercury and Mars are smaller.  Jupiter has moons that are larger than Mercury. The planets also have different atmospheres. Uranus, Jupiter and Saturn have atmospheres of hydrogen and helium.  The atmosphere on Venus is made up of carbon dioxide. Earth has a nitrogen and oxygen atmosphere. Neptune’s atmosphere is mostly hydrogen. The planets also have different temperatures. Uranus is the coldest and Venus is the hottest.

Michael and his stomach

Michael works  in a restaurant in the centre of Madrid, Spain. He goes  to work at 5pm, but yesterday at 5pm, he wasn't on the bus, he  was in a taxi going to the hospital. He was very sick! Usually, he works in the kitchen all evening, but yesterday he wasn't in the  kitchen. He  was  in the X-ray department of the hospital because the doctors were worried about his stomach pain.

Normally, at 11pm,  Michael  takes  a bus to go home after finishing at the restaurant, but yesterday at 11pm, he was still in the hospital and  he was still unhappy and sick. He was in a bed and he was very hot : 102 °F (38,9 °C)  degrees!  Was  he worried? Yes, he was! 

In  the  morning,  he  was  better  and the doctors were pleased. What was the problem?

It was bad food; from his restaurant!

 

Exercise 2:

Place a "T" on the lineS if the statements are TRUE.  Place  an "F" on the lines if the statements are FALSE:

Exercise 3: Record a voice note with the right pronunciation of the questions and the answers on exerises 1 and 2 and send it to your teacher's  mail on Monday, June 22nd.
